We're still celebrating the success of Figurama Festival in Akihabara, Japan. Not only did we get to showcase four upcoming statues (the most we've ever revealed at once!), but we also met some amazing people for the first time.
Among these wonderful new acquaintances were four 2nd year art students studying traditional and digital sculpting. We invited them to our office in Akihabara for a meeting with our CEO, Mr. Shanab, who discussed the process of finding inspiration, designing a statue, and producing limited edition collectible pieces.
The art students brought their personal portfolios and samples, which included 3D models, character designs, and artwork. They expressed how Figurama Collectors inspired their work, explaining that they are a rare example of collectibles that "capture movement and the actual personality of the characters."
Mr. Shanab shared advice from the perspective of a CEO, artist, and collector. He encouraged these student artists-in-training to first study the works of artists they admire and then use that as inspiration to develop their own original style. However, to truly be successful as an artist, it is critical to not only have inspiration but also follow through with a project to the very end. This will establish commitment to the art form, foster perseverance, and allow for many trial-and-error growing moments. Learning from experience and applying those takeaways to the next project is the key to growth and evolving as an artist. This is the same mindset that fuels Figurama Collectors' company culture.
We are truly honored and grateful to have members of the next generation of artists visiting the Figurama Collectors HQ. It's our wish to continue opening our door to aspiring creators, sculptors, and dreamers who will shape the statue industry in the years to come.
