Welcome Figuramians to an amazing update! We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Shanab, Production Manager and several members of the team recently returned from a long and very successful trip to China! It was an amazing visit and collaborative effort where we addressed some of the key production challenges we’ve been facing, long timelines and production quality.
You'll see in this round-up that we didn't just visit our factory while in China, we spent our time visiting our warehouses and meeting up with strategic partners to help push Figurama Collectors further than ever before and ensure that we're going above and beyond your expectations.
Figurama Collectors statues are unlike anything in the market, our designs challenge the engineers to create new ways of making statues and our commitment to a quality outcome of material and paint keep us leading the way in the industry. Because of this complexity and commitment, it does cause challenges during manufacturing as we are intent on ensuring every piece is the right fit, has the right coloring and matches are high standards. This can make our production take longer than expected and it’s something we are working hard on. We will never drop our quality or cut corners to ship a product quicker, but we are developing our processes to ensure a smoother production process that will enable us to ship your statues sooner.
In fact, we have a whopping 7 projects being shipped in the next 6 months. We will share more details on this on the 21st with a full shipping timeline.
First, let’s talk Naruto. You’ve been waiting a long time for this and we appreciate your patience, we’re in QC now so you can start getting HYPED FOR SHIPPING! We’ve faced a lot of challenges with Naruto that has led us to making a lot of decisions so that we deliver the quality we’re known for.
We want to use sustainable materials that still have the durability to last a lifetime in your collection and even become family heirloom status. One the materials we choose with the Naruto statue we thought had all of these properties, until we found that it might discolor after a few years. At this point, we’d already cast the entire 1500 pieces. But instead of cutting corners and accepting that, we chose a new material that is sustainable, durable and will offer the longevity we want, and we RECAST THE ENTIRE EDITION. This obviously took a toll on our timeline, but you can agree it was the right decision.
Next we did a lot of work improving the overall design, we looked at all the little details and found that some of our decals weren’t quite right and made small but very important adjustments to those. We checked the color accuracy of our paint and made minor tweaks to ensure our statue stays true to the source and made sure the accuracy of our paint was spot on. Finally, we upgraded our moulds to get a more crisp and detailed piece.
Naruto will begin shipping the first part of July in batches. Keep an eye on your inbox for the shipping notice and if you ordered with a distributor, get in touch with them to see when you can expect your piece. If you missed out on this piece, make sure to join the waitlist.
Let's talk about Dororo, another long awaited statue that we’ve faced several challenges with on the engineering of this statue, which required numerous design tweaks to ensure it is as beautiful, epic, and accurate as possible.
The Kyubi’s on this statue are one of the focus points and so we spent a lot of time perfecting the translucent gradient effect on these to give that feeling of movement and haze that is seen in the series.
We’ve also tried and improved our manufacturing processes to create the intricate details of Hyaakimaru’s hair, he has a lot of strands that needed to be created with detail and we managed to develop ways to make this happen.
Speaking of Hyakkimaru and his incredible amount of swappables, we had an engineering challenge around the blades and arms. While our original design worked and you could swap his hands out for blades, we were finding the fit on these pieces wasn’t perfect. So we went back an re-engineered these swappables to ensure a great fit for every piece, it means you’ll now get 4 blades instead of 2, to make sure you can present this the way you want, perfectly.
Dororo will begin shipping in batches starting as early as the second week of July, again, keep an eye on your inbox for that shipping notice. If you missed out on this piece make sure to join the waitlist.
Shipping is always a priority for us, not only to make sure your statues arrive in perfect condition as swiftly as possible, but also with rates that make sense. We’ve managed to strike an amazing deal with one of the best logistics companies to help reduce shipping prices to many areas by as much as 70%. Part of this reduction is an unprecedented shipping offer tailored specifically for GCC countries!
We’re really excited to bring these new shipping rates to you!
We know many of you are waiting on other statues and we are currently working to improve and finalize our revised production timelines. Tomorrow we will be sharing our targeted shipping timeline for the rest of 2024 so you have a clearer expectation of when your pieces will arrive. We are fully committed to these timelines and doing everything we can to deliver as scheduled while providing full transparency on what to expect for the rest of the year. We are still working to finalize the timeline commitment for next year, so if you don’t see the statue you are waiting for listed, please stay tuned for the 2025 timeline we will share a little later.
Keep on collecting!
