When he finally reappears, flowers bloom vividly from his body. He smiles brightly, as though he has seen paradise itself. What did the expedition encounter? What fate befell the others? Why are flowers blooming from the man's body? And what truly lies on the mysterious island of Shinsenkyō? Determined to uncover the truth and claim the Elixir of Life, the Shogunate turns to the only people considered expendable: death row inmates. In exchange for retrieving the elixir, they are offered a single reward - complete absolution of their crimes.
Infamously known as Gabimaru the Hollow, a deadly shinobi betrayed by his own village, Gabimaru is captured and sentenced to death. Yet he is given one final chance at freedom. If he can locate the Elixir of Life on the legendary island of Shinsenkyō and return it to the Shogunate, his sentence will be erased. Paired with his monitor, Sagiri, Gabimaru sets out for the island alongside other condemned criminals. Together, they must navigate a hauntingly deadly paradise and fight to survive, hoping, somehow, to make it back alive.

Twisted, arborified corpses lie tangled among the roots - the remnants of previous expedition teams, a grim reminder that even the island’s flowers carry deadly consequences.
Together, Gabimaru and Sagiri push deeper into the hellish landscape of Shinsenkyō, determined to uncover its secrets and survive its horrors.
